Sheriff Kenny Cotton was born and raised in Pike County. He has attended Springhill FWB Church his entire life and his faith is very important to him. In 1979, he graduated from McComb High School and went on to graduate from Southwest Community College. He is a retired Sergeant Major with two times highly decorated war vet, with 32 years of service. Sheriff Cotton has been married for 30 years and has two children.
Sheriff Cotton has more than 34 years law enforcement experience, on a variety of management levels from police officer, to police chief, to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and Sheriff of Pike County. He started his career as a patrol-man for the McComb Police Department from 1983 to 1986. Sheriff Cotton went on to be MBN Captain for 23 years and Chief of Summit Police Department for 6 years.
Sheriff Cotton enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, like football, basketball, hiking, fishing, and swimming. When the opportunity arises, he also likes to go for a motorcycle ride, but the most rewarding joy for Sheriff Cotton is serving the community.
